Basildon hosted EAST last expert's panel

During three days, from the 19th to the 21st of March, Basildon council hosted the third and last panel of experts organized in the framework of EAST project. Delegates from Europe and Asia as well as experts discussed about the development of new towns or mature towns as some European cities already developed since the 1950s. It was a great opportunity to share the experience of Basildon which is undertaking the redevolpment of its housing stock and of its city center. The presentations and the minutes of the meeting will shortly be available.

Registrations for the next panel of experts are open! The Basildon Council, UK, will host the event from the 19th to the 21st of March 2014. The experts and the partners of the project, from Europe, India, China, will meet for three days of discussions on sustainable urban development, with a stress on the social fabric of cities. Project's evaluation India and China- call for experts

As the EAST project will soon be in its final year, it is time to evaluate the activities realized so far, to capitalize on the results and anticipate future actions. We are thus looking for experts who have experience in Indian and Chinese urban development, new towns and local authorities to carry out a field visit and deliver a detailed evaluation report. Panel in Basildon - call for experts and agenda

The third experts panel under the EAST project will be held between the 19th and 21st of March 2014 in Basildon (UK). The panel will gather European and Chinese experts and will address the questions of new towns and their relation to world metropolis, of economic growth, public sector and green technologies. 

For the event, we are looking for experts who have experience in urban developement and new towns management. Please find the call for experts  here , applications must be received by January the 15th
